Dear You,

Dear You,

Remember all those dreams you had when you were a kid? The ones you had of becoming the president, an astronaut, a hula dancer, and a world saving super hero. What happened to your dreams? I wish you still believed in yourself like you did when everything seemed conquerable, and you knew nothing but the feeling of excitement that came when you told your class you were going to change the world. But then, after scrapped knees and tears that stung, that same world tainted your visions of success the longer you were in it, and suddenly you forgot all about what it means to dream. Dreaming, now, has only become a long forgotten wish that you dust off every now and then. I challenge you to revisit the ideas you once had of pure happiness. What is stopping you? Be confident, be strong, but most of all....be Y.O.U.
Love,
The one who knows you can do it

Dear you,
Sometimes encouragement comes from the most unexpected places, and sometimes the words come at EXACTLY the right moment when someone needs to hear them.
Thanks,
me

I actually pursued my dreams as an adult. However, the desire for financial stability lead me away from it. I was a dance major before changing it to paralegal studies. However, I love the legal system... Maybe law school is my next dream?

this is so sweet. you can tell it's heartfelt. It's so true, the world changes us. What we go through shapes us, and sometimes for the worst. Sometimes I wish I could be more like the 4 year old me than the 21 year old me :)

Such a good reminder, but it's hard sometimes when dreams feel lost in jobs that turn you down. I try so hard to stay positive and keep dreaming, but sometimes I feel talented in too many little things and not enough big things to catch an employer's eye. I will forever keep dreaming... the hard part is the confidence to always do so!

So cute!!! I don't know if I can live up to my second grade dream of becoming a piano player, ballet dancer, singing artist that somehow mixes all of those talents into one big show, who also happens to write books on the side, but I will try ;)

Ahh I used to be a vet, but now I'm afraid of big dogs :P Still holding on to my college-career dreams, though!

I might have to write this down and stick it to my mirror. Something to help me drudge through those days that seem like they will never end. Sometimes all we need is a reminder. Thanks for that!
