When it gets below 50 degrees in Phoenix, we think the world is freezing over. You will find me in my heaviest jacket, sweatshirt, and pants that I can find, and I will most likely be complaining about how cold I am. To all of you who like to live in the snow... I think you're crazy ;)
I have trouble sleeping most nights. I've never been a good sleeper, and for some reason it's even harder when Mike falls asleep before me... Which is 100% of the time. He hits the pillow and within minutes he's completely passed out. Most nights he wont even make it to the bed before he's asleep, so I have to shake him to wake up on the couch and ask him why the stink he's already sleeping. Last night it was really cold (refer to above paragraph for an objective view) and I bundled up before I went to bed.
Like most nights, a few hours after I fell asleep I woke up. Because I had bundled up I was sweating and extremely hot underneath our down comforter. A little fact you don't know about me is that when I'm in a situation where I feel confined or strapped down I get incredibly anxious. I was really tired but started to frantically try and take off some of my layers. It was a mess of a situation and I started to get anxious.
For some reason, after a failed attempt at trying to un-layer, I decided I'd just lay down and keep my arm out of the blanket. Simple solution.
By keeping that one part of my body out of the blanket, my body temperature went down and I was able to fall back asleep. I woke up again a little while later and I was cold (of course) so I covered up my arm... this cycle repeated the rest of the night.
I woke up with an epiphany from that experience. It was like my answer to questions that I've been trying to solve came in the weirdest form ever, so I thought I'd pass it along to you.
I learned that a simple change in what I'm doing can fix an entire problem. I think we as women get really nit picky at ourselves and feel like we're failing at everything if our carpet doesn't have the right vacuum lines. We don't always need to start completely over or find some huge miracle solution in order to find success in our life and businesses. Find simple solutions to your problems. Most of the time when you're frustrated, you don't need to un-layer everything and start all over. Solutions to whatever problems your facing in your business and life can be easy. Try to complete a task a different way if you're not seeing the results that you would like. But don't give up on yourself, and don't feel like you're too much in a rut to get out.
Keep it simple.
Shine on.

Cute post! My Husband is the same way. He hits the pillow and is out within minutes snoring then I just lay there wide awake trying to falling asleep.
Love these pictures of you.
i agree! great thoughts :)
Thanks for the insights. It's a good point that someimes little adjustments can be good solutions instead of throwing everything out and starting over. Thanks for sharing your early morning thoughts. (BTW I use Valerian and Lemon Balm -herbs, to help to calm me down at night. Hope your sleep comes back!)
Simple changes are often best, I agree! I also don't sleep very well, and I'm jealous of my husband's ability to sleep anywhere at anytime. I'm going to try doing yoga before bed to see if it helps, and limiting screen time.
Love this ;) Sometimes insomnia lends brilliant ideas!
Brilliant insight!
And I'm totally like you. I wake up sweating and feel anxious, and I look over at my hubby who is sound asleep peacefully. Lol argh.
Totally following you now sweet thing!! Happy Vday, love your blog!!

I am the same way with the cold. I can't imagine living in the snow! I like how you talked about simple changes. When problems or tasks seem overwhelming, it's because I'm looking to make bigs changes. Then, I end up doing nothing because I'm overwhelmed. Thanks for the insight!
What pretty pictures! I found your blog through the $1,500 gift card giveaway (I would use the money towards a new MacBook) and I am so glad I did, I love it and I am now following you! Happy Valentine's Day!
