I've always had this complex about going to the doctor. You might know what I mean.
You're sick, you just need someone to tell you what's wrong and give you medicine to fix it.
So, you go to the doctor, wait hours to be seen, only to find out they don't know what's wrong and you have to come back 10 more times and by then you've already gotten better on your own.
I hate it. So, I never ever go to the doctor.
When Zoe and Shiloh got here, I knew my attitude for the doctor had to change. I was now responsible for these two babies who needed doctor's care whether I wanted to deal with it or not!
I had to get them updated on their shots, and both of them were really sick.
It stressed me out so much, I can't event tell you.
Thinking about having to find them a good doctor, paying for it, hoping they were okay... and the list goes on. Meanwhile Mike and I were completely thrown into this whole new world of parenting while trying to work 50 hours a week. Guys, I wanted to just have a mega melt down!
My mom, who is the mom of all moms and just knows everything about everything, told me to take the kids to a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic. She said it would be fast, cheap, and they would get the medicine they needed to feel better. She even called first and looked one up that is close to us so I could just get in the car and go.
I took the kids to the clinic without having an appointment, and we only had to wait about 30 minutes to be seen. They were given the attention and medicine they needed, and our nurse practitioner knew exactly how to treat them right then and there. As a result, the kids were better in a matter of days and my stress relief was through the roof!
Having kids is so stressful! The last thing I want to worry about is where to take them when they're sick, and now I don't have to.
