Home Tour: Family Room and Kitchen

We've officially been in our house for a year. I honestly can't believe how fast it has gone, and how much has changed since we first moved in. We live smack dab in down town Phoenix in a remodeled 1940s historic home. We moved down here because of the charm of the houses in the area... most homes in Phoenix are stucco and look similar to each other. I loved the character in the historic districts downtown, AND I needed to be closer to my employees who make Threads. One of our rooms turned into the office ((and were so excited to get an office thats bigger than our entire house in 3 weeks!))
Now we have two kids and things in our home have drastically changed. I kept procrastinating showing our home because it never seems finished. And finally I bit the bullet and decided to show you what it looks like so far.

Welcome into our home.

I love the industrial farmhouse style. I get asked a lot where I get my furniture around my house...
Most of my pieces were searched long and hard for in vintage shops around Phoenix.
If you're local, 7th Ave down town is lined with amazing little gems. If you're looking for fun and unique pieces, you have to be patient. Don't overspend at overpriced vintage boutiques either!

Some fun details:
China from my Grandma..it was hers growing up.
In the frames I have old magazine recipes from the 1940s (the same time that our house was built)
Everything in the wood shelf is vintage..including an old green ammo box from a war.
The wood shelf cost me $8
Dining Table/chairs- World Market ((its actually on sale right now!))

I love your house! We have a 1940s house too and I struggle so much with how to decorate it. I want a mix of vintage and modern.

What a gorgeous home! I love how you've incorporated items from the 40's throughout the house, since one of the features you loved was the time it was built. I can't get over how beautiful that wood table is!

I want to steal your ART sign because it's AMAZING. Plus, your kitchen is just the perfect mix of modern and vintage. I love all the little touches and the china set is my favorite.

Love your home. It has a wonderful rustic look. After much discovery, I found that my design style is more modern with a touch of hobo. The hobo part shocked me lol However, I am looking forward to redecorating. I live in an apartment in NY and while it's a large apartment, I'm sometimes at a loss with how to decorate it. After spending a near day on BHnG, I think I got it LOL!
