Valentine Whole Wheat Pancakes

One more week until Valentine's Day! One of my favorite holidays of the year, and we have some fun stuff lined up for you next week. To kick off the Valentine's countdown, we're bringing you this favorite new recipe. Our friends at the YMCA are big supporters of a healthy lifestyle, and we're partnering with them to bring you this Fit Friday recipe!

3/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tblsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tblsp butter
2 tblsp applesauce
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate chips

Whisk flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Warm milk until lukewarm, then whisk milk, butter, egg, and vanilla together.

Make a well in center of the flour mixture. Pour milk mixture into the well and stir with fork until mixed and only small clumps of flour remain. Do not over mix.

Make, and sprinkle with chocolate chips!

Brooke made these, and brought them to me cold, and they were SO good. She likes them warm, and then the chocolate melts ;) Enjoy!

We've been loving our workouts at the YMCA, click on our "healthy living" tab to see them all!

I really love your blog. I think your fitness posts are super fun, and I like your inclusion of photos of yourself as well as what you are talking about. I think it helps the average blog reader know if what they are making is turning out right by seeing the pictures you post. I can't wait to see more posts.
